AWC and HoC Board of Governors Meeting at CHIEAM BARI, Italy, on July 18 -19, 2023
The Arab Water Council Executive Committee and House of Consultation Board of Governors had essential discussions, and decisions were made regarding the organization's strategic plan and future direction.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Mediterranean and Arab Gulf countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Algeria, and Sudan.
During the meeting, the Director of CIHEAM Bari, Maurizio Raeli, highlighted the longstanding partnership between CIHEAM Bari and the Arab Water Council, stating that the partnership has been built on solid foundations and continues to thrive. The Director further emphasized the importance of looking towards the future and working together to address water resource management challenges in the Mediterranean and Arab Gulf regions.
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the appointment of Dr. Roula Khadra, international officer at CIHEAM Bari, and a member of the AWC executive committee. Dr. Roula Khadra's had exceptional dedication and efforts to strengthen the AWC and CIHEAM Bari partnership over the past five years. The main objective of the two-day meeting was to discuss the strategic plan of the Arab Water Council and to ensure that CIHEAM Bari remains a leading action partner.
AWC will also be taking part in the preparation of holding the Mediterranean Water Forum during the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto City.
