The first General Assembly was held in Cairo on 7-8 December 2006 attended by 122 participants from the AWC members, Ambassadors, country representatives, NGOs and numerous public figures.
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abu-Zeid Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Egypt, and Interim President- of the Arab water council, officially opened the GA meeting, expressing his thanks and congratulations to all members for their achievements during the last round. The agenda of the meeting included the approval of the constitution of the AWC and election of the Board of Governors.
The GA meeting was followed by the first BOG meeting on December 8th, 2006.
