King Mohammed VI International Center for Strategic Water Studies and Research in the Arab World
After completing the studies of phase (3) of the establishment of the Center headquarters, His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco agreed to put the Center underhis patronage, to be designated as “King Mohammed VI Center for Strategic Water Studies and Research in the Arab World.” Moreover, a specific site was approved to be allocated to host the permanent headquarters, where the temporary residence is currently located at the Hassaniyah School for Public Works in the Kingdom of Morocco.
In a recent development, a Consultancy Group from Morocco, comprising consultants from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt, have visited the Arab Water Council in Egypt in November 2018 and presented documents and layouts for a consulting project in the State of Fez over an area of 237 hectares. The project includes the establishment of a touristic, sports, educational and recreational zone, meanwhile allocating a suitable area for establishing a branch for the Arab Water Council and King Mohammed VI International Center for Strategic Water Studies and Research in Morocco.
The Consulting Group is now finalizing details and funding opportunities, where the needs of the Council to establish a branch office in Morocco are to be considered.
