The Board of Governors of the Arab Water Council held its 7th meeting in Cairo, Egypt on November 19, 2011. The opening witnessed the presence of Excellencies, H.E. Al-Sadig Almahdy, Imam Al Ansar and president of Ummah National party – SUDAN; Dr. Shadad Attili, Head of Palestinian Water Authority; and Dr. Mahmoud Abu-Zeid, President of the Arab Water Council. The meeting was attended Dr. Asma El-Kasmi, Director of Arab Water Academy; and Dr. Adnan Bou-Kamel, Head of Hassania College for Public Works that is designated to be the headquarters of Mohammed VI International Center for Studies and Water Research in the Arab World.
The Board discussed among the agenda items the Permanent Secretariat Report for the year 2011, the institutional steps of the Arab Water Academy, presenting AWC financial report. The Board also discussed the report on establishing “Mohammed VI International Center for Studies and Water Research in the Arab World” in Morocco, and the final preparations for the 2nd Arab Water Forum that was held on November 20-23, 2011. The meeting was concluded by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between AWC and Singapore International Water Week for the years 2012-2013.
